Dr. Mark Hamilton

With a career spanning five decades across the whole scope of worldwide live event security operations and crowd safety management, Mark brings unparalleled knowledge and practical experience at strategic, tactical and operational levels, to protect audiences, artists and brand reputations

Most recently, Mark completed the second U.S. leg of the Got Back World Tour as Security Director for long-term client Sir Paul McCartney. The inconsistent safety practices he has observed across North America and worldwide, strengthened his resolve to create a global standard for the Showstop® Procedure course—the world’s only internationally accredited Showstop training programme.

Across generations, the live events industry has experienced repeated crowd-related fatalities.  Each represents a family losing a loved one—a price no one should ever pay for attending a show.  Mark firmly believes the Showstop Procedure, a proven concept, significantly reduces incident response time and provides robust mitigation.

Beyond the profound human cost, the legal and financial ramifications for artists, promoters, venues, cities, and states can be significant. Mark speaks to the simple, effective training available to create competent Showstop Managers; a role that enhances the decision-making architecture of an event; and creates a Procedure fit to mitigate not only direct crowd related risks but those arising from other threats to life safety such as terrorism, active shooter, structural failure, or fire.
